More than dance — we teach the whole child

Mountain Movers Creative Arts is a faith-based, non-competitive dance studio in Salem, VA, where dancers ages 18 months and up build confidence, creativity and character through ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and acro. Led by Ms. Angie and Ms. Lacie, Mountain Movers leads with kindness and belonging — we don't just teach dance, we help shape strong, kind, capable kids for life.

Families across the Roanoke Valley describe the studio as “more like a family than a dance studio” the moment they walk in. Whether your child is taking their very first class or has been dancing for years, they're met exactly where they are and celebrated for their own growth — never ranked or pressured.

Our branded Movers programs — Magic, Creative, Mini, Mighty, Dynamic and Fearless — welcome every age and stage. And through our nonprofit Darby's Dancers program, children with special needs experience the joy of dance too. We instill more than dance skills: confidence, kindness, body positivity and life skills that carry far beyond the studio.

Every Mountain Movers class is led by a caring, passionate instructor committed to a positive, faith-based, encouraging environment — teachers who see each child as a person, not just a participant.

Miss Angie, Owner & Dance Director

Miss Angie

Owner & Dance Director

Angela Craft is a highly experienced Dance Director and instructor with over 30 years of experience in the dance industry, and a Certified Member of the Dance Educators of America (DEA). She has taught all styles of dance and has a deep passion for working with children. Her award-winning choreography has earned her recognition as a National Competitive Dance Choreography winner.

Throughout her career, Angela has studied under some of the best teachers in the industry, honing her skills and developing her own unique teaching style. Her strengths lie in teaching not just the steps, but confidence, teamwork, discipline and self-esteem. She believes a comfort zone is just a start, and encourages her students to be brave and step beyond it.

Angela's love for dance and teaching shines through in her work, and she is dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential. Her ability to connect with students and create a positive, supportive environment has earned her the respect and admiration of students and parents alike.
